A Decision to be of Service
Dr. Grace Dammann’s life was forever altered when a driver crashed head-on into her car on the Golden Gate Bridge. Dr. Dammann once honored by the Dalai Lama for her extraordinary work with AIDS patients’ said, “It’s a real eye-opener to be on the other side of the caregiver-caretaker divide.”
After a seven-week coma and numerous surgeries, Grace miraculously regained consciousness, with her cognitive abilities almost entirely intact, but her body left shattered and severely disabled.
Her friends Mark and Helen Cohen released the award-winning documentary States of Grace which follows Grace and her family as she goes through the arduous process of healing her body and spirit.
Today, Grace runs the Pain Clinic at Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center from a wheelchair. Grace joins us for this inspiring conversation about life during and after her accident. www.statesofgracefilm.com
