Michigan Nurses Speak Up and Nurse Fashion Don’ts

Our Nurse Talk laughter survey checks out hair salons to see who is laughing and who ISNT! Oh this is fun! After this little experiment…we think people might be a little too serious on the job!

Michigan RN Katie Oppenheim talks about significant concerns for patients of the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS). Four-thousand registered nurses at the UMHS, represented by the Michigan Nurses Association/National Nurses United, held a press conference Tuesday at the University of Michigan about the future of quality patient care at one of the nation’s leading medical facilities. Nurses announced they are prepared to picket the hospital on August 13 should management refuse to withdraw demands that the nurses say will erode nursing standards at the facility.

Katie also talks about the recent “No Soup for You” Soup Kitchen on the Capitol lawn sponsored by Michigan Nurses Association protesting budget cuts in social programs.

You remember the Soup Nazi don’t you?

Casey and Dan share some nurse fashion don’ts! High-waters. Yes or No? Wearing a size 12 when you need an 18? Perfectly acceptable or absolutely not? Stains on scrubs. No big deal or yes, BIG deal?
