Nurse Talk Short | Healing Hurricane Sandy and Applying Humor

Hurricane Sandy when many community clinics, doctors’ offices, and pharmacies were closed, leaving residents without access to medical services, RN Mary Fitzgerald of the New York State Nurses Association was there. She tells us how Occupy Sandy and Peoples Medical Relief have helped.

Karyn Buxman, RN, humorist and board member of the Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humor talks their upcoming conference in San Diego about how laughter is a helpful tool for healing.  “Some days you need your tools in your tool belt, some days you need your weapons, but you need your sense of humor every day.”
