Nurse Talk spoke with RN Carole Rodgers last week. (See show 219, December 27, 2009) Carole works at the Alameda County Medical Center and has recently been active in the fight to keep San Leandro Hospital open. The hospital is now run by Sutter Health Group who is trying to close it. Closing facilities that serve the “underserved” is a pattern that is practiced by Sutter.
Supporters say, “We need the help from the community to let our County Board of Supervisors know they have the power to keep San Leandro Hospital open as an acute care facility – with a 24 hour emergency room!”http://www.savesanleandrohospital.com/
